Francesco Toninelli is an Italian composer and percussionist based in Copenhagen where he studies at RMC after classical music training.
His research is concerned with content-based creation, mostly influenced by philosophy and literature, overtaking the pure sensory result.
After a long period of interest in improvised music, he is now working on instrumental compositions, field recordings and sound collage, with a special interest for contingency, absence of will and space hearing, and started to work on a sonic semiology project. For these and other reasons he has a particular connection with both experimental music tradition and musique concrète.
Other current interests include rural landscape, television editing, greek tragedy, weapons, abandoned and constructions sites.
